Raising the Bar: A Mindful and Ethical Start for the New Year

The DCBA/FBA South Florida Chapter’s Mindfulness in the Law Joint Task Force, The University of Miami Mindfulness in Law Program, and Berger Singerman LLP, hosted a CLE program entitled “Raising the Bar: A Mindful and Ethical Start for the New Year.” The event, which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel and attended by more than 130 judges and attorneys, took the form of a panel discussion followed by a wine reception. The panel included Judge Alan Gold, Dr. Amishi Jha, a neuroscientist and professor at the University of Miami, Judge Chris McAliley, Tony Recio, Esq. of Weiss, Serota, et al., and Professor Scott Rogers, founder of the University of Miami Law School’s Mindfulness in Law Program. The panel addressed such interesting issues as the neurological, health, and other benefits of maintaining a mindfulness practice, and ideas for integrating mindfulness in the practice of law. Stay tuned for more programming from the Joint Task Force.
