Student brown bag lunch with Judge Bloom

On April 13th, 2018, the St. Thomas University School of Law’s Honorable Peter R. Palermo FBA Student Division attended a brown bag lunch hosted by the Honorable Beth Bloom, U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of Florida.  Judge Bloom warmly welcomed the students into her chambers and spoke about the practice of federal law, professionalism, civility, and answered questions.

After lunch, Judge Bloom gave a tour of her courtroom and explained the symbolism of the phrase “passing the bar,” and why it is an honor and a privilege.  Judge Bloom and her chambers were very gracious with their time, and the students were extremely appreciative of the ‘behind the scenes’ opportunity they were given!
