The Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee Presents: Conversations Between the Federal Bench & Bar About Court Practices During COVID-19
On Monday, May 4, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., the Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee, with support from all Florida chapters of the Federal Bar Association, hosted a a free livestream CLE entitled: Conversations Between the Federal Bench & Bar About Court Practices During COVID-19.
Social distancing restrictions present unique challenges and opportunities for federal judges and practitioners. In this free livestream CLE, participants interacted with our panelists, who discussed:
- Adjustments in their court practices in light of “work from home” (including practical and technology issues);
- Ethics and professional issues associated with remote court appearances; and
- The opportunities these circumstances present for members of the bench & bar.
The livestream CLE featured United States District Judges:

Moderated by The Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee Chair, Jason Kairalla (Carlton Fields), and Vice Chair, Melissa Damian Visconti (Damian & Valori, LLP).
Participants interacted with the speakers via live chat, question window, and online polling. This free event was prequalified by the Florida Bar for 1.5 hours of CLE (includes 1.5 General, 1.0 ethics, 0.5 Professionalism, and 1.0 technology).
